Good heavens, where to start? I’m thankful to be loved by the Creator. I’m thankful that the creation I live in is so marvelous — always something to be astonished by, always a new flower to admire, a sunset to enjoy, new friends to make. I’m thankful that I live a life of plenty and that I have enough to share. I’m thankful that I have a generous husband and daughter. For my friends, my chickens, my bees. For my curiousity which keeps me from being bored. For the possibility of tilapia in a horse trough.
Today, specifically, I’m thankful for the rain. We need it so badly, in the big picture, even though in the moment we’re probably all frankly a little tired of it. But sometimes gray days can be so beautiful, especially when the light is just right and all the trees turn this really saturated shade of green. I’m thankful for the work that’s coming Steve’s way and the new and exciting projects that may be coming mine. I’m thankful for my job — I love my job even when it’s driving me to distraction, and I think I’m still the right person for it. I’m thankful for all the help (HA! I did next to nothing) I’ve had this week with physical projects: emptying the storage unit, moving all the stuff for the 4th of July picnic and more. Every now and then, it’s really nice to stand around and watch someone else do the heavy lifting.
